Abstract

The understanding of mechanisms of neuronal alteration and maintenance of their molecular signatures during disease progression is a major requirement for clinically correct diagnosis of neurological disease. Radiological neuroimaging is a noninvasive approach used to observe the physical manifestation of the disease or phenotype in order to understand the neurological diseases. In cases of acute stroke, the use of advanced perfusion and collateral imaging has added another level of phenotypic precision medicine. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by fits and seizures due to abnormal activity and discharge of neurons in brain. Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disease, with a complex pathogenesis involving an interaction of several genetic variants, each with specific, however, minor impact, and a number of environmental factors. The concept of precision medicine is based on individualized evaluation and multidimensional information about omics, molecular imaging, deep brain stimulation surgery, and wearable sensors leading to tailored therapeutic strategies in Parkinson's disease.
