Research on Spectrum Fragmentation Algorithm for Space Division Multiplexing Elastic Optical Network Based on MCDM

Abstract

In response to the problem of crosstalk between cores in the large-capacity multi-core fiber space division multiplexing elastic optical network (SDM-EON), the service transmission quality decreases and the blocking rate increases. The causes of spectrum fragmentation are analyzed, and a defragmentation algorithm for space division multiplexing elastic optical network based on MCDM (Multiple Criteria Decision Making, MCDM) is proposed from the perspective of improving spectrum utilization. The algorithm uses multi-criteria decision-making to defragment the spectrum, so that the defragmentation effect is optimal. Simulation verification is carried out through specific examples, and the results prove that the proposed algorithm has a lower bandwidth blocking rate (35% blocking rate under high load) and request blocking rate (41% under high load). It can effectively improve the network request blocking rate under high network load conditions, and provides a theoretical reference for the processing of the spectrum fragmentation of the elastic optical network under actual conditions.
