Abstract

In this work, we propose a mixed integer programming (MIP) model based on a new State-Task Network (STN) representation for the modeling and optimization of energy supply chains. A unified modeling framework for the operational planning of a broad range of energy supply chains is presented addressing an extensive range of conversion processes and technology, material and energy resources. An example problem of an energy supply chain network is used to illustrate the salient features and the applicability of the proposed Energy State-Task Network (ESTN) modeling approach and determine the optimal design and operational planning of the energy network.
