Abstract

We develop a readout system dedicated for a hybrid avalanche photo-detector (HAPD). We employ a waveform sampling and digital signal processing (DSP) technique for the system. We fabricate the first prototype of the system. The system is composed of an analog memory cell (AMC) as the waveform sampler and FINENET with field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) to give low power consumption, high resolution, flexible DSP environment and fast output data transfer. A 64-cell AMC is developed and attained a fast sampling speed of 1GHz with the low power consumption of ~72mW. FINENET works with online DSP functionality and achieved the data transfer rate to -1Gbps with SiTCP. We report the performance of the system with HAPD.
