A New Pattern of Automatic Docking Scheme between Shore Power and Ship

With the introduction of ‘port electricity layout plan’ by the ministry of transport of China and the enhancement of people's awareness of environmental protection, the technology of ship shore power has been gradually popularized to major ports in recent years, but its efficiency in practical application is not high. In this paper, we describe a new framework of shore power automatic docking, which completes from recognition to ship docking. The proposed method combines various technologies, i.e., image segmentation, contour recognition, target tracking, visual recognition to realize the automation and efficiency of the system in port operations. The new pattern has practical significance to reduce the cost of docking operation, improve the efficiency, enhance the automation degree of docking system and promote the popularization of shore power technology.
