Abstract

The Niagara County Water District provides drinking water to a population of approximately 150,000 in the Western New York counties of Niagara, Erie, and Orleans. In 2002, the Niagara County Water District (NCWD) identified several improvements at the Shawnee Road Pump Station that would reduce excessive energy consumption and increase overall station efficiency. They looked to Wendel Duchscherer Architects & Engineers P.C., to provide professional consulting and engineering services related to the feasibility evaluation, design services, construction services, start-up services, operating enhancements, troubleshooting, and energy grant services in connection with the upgrade of the Pump Station. This paper was presented at the 8th Annual Water Distribution Systems Analysis Symposium which was held with the generous support of Awwa Research Foundation (AwwaRF).
