Abstract

In the previous chapter the boundary element Dual Reciprocity Method was developed and applied to problems governed by a Poisson-type equation in which the right-hand side is a known function of position, i.e. $${\nabla^2}u=b\left({x,y}\right)$$ (4.1) for which the basic DRM matrix expression was established in the form $$ Hu - Gq = (H\overset{\lower0.5em\hbox{$\smash{\scriptscriptstyle\frown}$}}\to {U} - \overset{\lower0.5em\hbox{$\smash{\scriptscriptstyle\frown}$}}\to {G} )\alpha = d$$ (4.2) In such analyses, as is usual in BEM, the solution is divided into two parts: (a) A boundary solution, and (b) An internal solution.
