ChemInform Abstract: Novel Methodologies for the Synthesis of Functionalized Pyroglutamates

A series of pyroglutamates (III), (VIII), and (X) is readily prepared by reaction of iminoesters (I) with corresponding Baylis—Hillman derivatives followed by acidic cleavage of imines and a subsequent lactamization.
