AC conductivity and dielectric property analysis of a MWCNT based polymer nano composite

Abstract

In the present study a polymer nano composite has been prepared by using MWCNT and polymer salt complex. To understand the ion migration process of the mobile ions present in the system, Ac conductivity and dielectric data has been analyzed and fitted with different theoretical models. Frequency dependent ac conductivity spectra have been fitted with Joanscher’s power law equation. Conductivity master curve shows a temperature independent ion migration process. Further, permittivity data has been fitted with Havriliak Negami equation. Permittivity data shows an existence of near constant loss at high frequency. Thermal dependency of this phenomenon has further been examined. The relaxation parameter obtained from Havriliak Negami fitting indicates presence of slower relaxation process at sub ambient temperature. A similar conclusion has also been obtained from tan delta peaks.
