The Vienna Public Health Equity Project: Context, Concepts, and Constructs

This paper is intended to be an addition to a study protocol for an online survey project to explore health care preferences in Vienna. Here I discuss the structural and institutional context of the Vienna Public Health Equity Project. Further, the key concepts and constructs of the project are introduced. These are: 1) socio-economic status, 2) individual health, 3) accessibility, affordability, and provision of health care, 4) attitudes towards social justice and fairness, 5) redistribution and policy preferences, 6) social norms of solidarity. Additionally, health (in)equity is considered.
