Abstract

The aims of this scoping review are to understand how passive sensing data are being used in the available literature to detect and predict depression and anxiety in young people between 12-25 years of age. The review will describe the current literature, with a focus on identifying how digital indices of location, activity, social interactions, and sleep are used to make conclusions about depression and anxiety. The review will also describe analytic approaches, report the quality and heterogeneity of methodological approaches, and provide recommendations for future research in this area.
