Abstract
- Recent scholarship suggests that COVID-19 amplified anti-Asian sentiments and exposed existing racial biases against Asian people. This rise in anti-Asian racism has recently been called into question by several community activists, organizations, and scholars. While this collective work has heightened awareness and efforts to address anti-Asian racism, we have observed that the experiences of Asian healthcare workers in particular have received less attention in comparison. This is an important area of inquiry given that Asian healthcare workers make up a significant portion of the health workforce, and will continue to play a crucial role in delivering the health and social care services that the public society depends on. Although the need to address racial violence experienced by Asian healthcare workers is non-debatable, a thorough investigation into the nature and foci of the existing literature base is first warranted to inform potential areas of research and inquiry that may inform policy and practice.
