Abstract
- A new closed form location algorithm for mobile user is proposed in this paper. In wireless communication systems, the time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurements can be obtained by computing the correlation function of the forward link pilot signals, the angle of arrival (AOA) measurements can be obtained by calculating the spatial spectrum for the reverse link pilot signal. With the measurements TDOA and AOA, the position of a mobile station (MS) can be determined. Firstly, the nonlinear TDOA and AOA measurement equations without noise are transformed to linear equations for the positions of MS. Secondly, the linear errors are calculated by the noisy measurement, and then a weighted least square method is used to solve the linear equations. The Cramer Rao bound (CRB) is analyzed in this paper. Finally, computer simulation is given. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed method can attain to CRB at moderate measurement noise.
