Abstract

In vitro cytogenic tests are undertaken in any cancer risk assessment process for exposures to environmental chemicals. Hazard identification is the first step in the cancer risk assessment process. A hazard is considered to be represented by genetic alterations assessed as gene mutations or chromosomal alterations. This article focuses on the numerical and structural induction of chromosomal alterations.
