Abstract
- Recurrent migraine and tension headache is a common somatic complaint which often begins in childhood and continues into adulthood. Until recently, this has been an under-researched area in children and adolescents. Medical and behavioral management approaches for these headaches will be discussed in this paper with the conclusion that relaxation training appears to be a promising treatment intervention. Specific guidelines for relaxation training and the role of the treating physical or occupational therapist are offered.
