Analog Video Recording on Magneto-Optical Disk

Color moving pitures were recorded on the magneto-optical disk by a frequency modulation method. Two types of FM modems whose bandwidths were 6 MHz and 9.3 MHz were developed. In the latter modem, the quality of reproduced pictures was as good as that of the Video Disc. It was confirmed that the horizontal resolution through the ITE test patterns was over 400 lines and the signal-to-noise ratio measured by video noise meter was 40 dB or more.
