Abstract
- The grapevine germplasm bank EVEGA contains 135 accessions of 15 Galician cultivars. Analysis with 33 polymorphic microsatellites (SSRs) indicate that Albarino and Loureira could be related to the Caino group in western Galicia, Spain. Likelihood ratios support the hypothesis of significant parentage relationship between Albarino and Caino Bravo as parents of Caino Blanco. Loureira shared alleles for each locus with Caino Bravo, indicating close relationship by hybridization. Caino Bravo was related directly with four cultivars: Caino Blanco, Caino Longo, Castanal and Loureira, as well as with two others (Caino Redondo1 and Souson) but with one less loci out of 33, indicating that it could be the origin of this lineage, being the key cultivar of the Caino group.
