Abstract
- This chapter numerically investigates condensation flow and heat transfer characteristics of hydrocarbon refrigerants in a spiral tube of a spiral-wound heat exchanger. First, a numerical model under static and sloshing conditions was established, and numerical results were verified based on experimental data. Then, pressure drop and heat transfer performances of hydrocarbon refrigerants in a spiral tube were discussed at static and sloshing conditions with different parameters. Finally, the effects of different sloshing motions (heave, roll, and pitch) on condensation flow and heat transfer of hydrocarbon refrigerants were evaluated.
