Research on Stability of Single Machine Infinite Power System with PSS

Abstract
- A single-machine infinite system (SMIS) simulation model with AVR, thyristor high gain exciter and PSS is established by using the mathematical mode and Simulink. Firstly, the dynamic performance simulation of the system is carried out under different disturbance conditions. Then analyze the dynamic performance of the system with different types of power system stabilizer ( PSS ) . The experimental results show that the system with PSS can effectively suppress the low-frequency oscillation and maintain the dynamic stability of the system. And the two-input PSS provides better robustness to the system than a single-input PSS.
