Abstract
- High-field magnetization up to 47 T and magnetic susceptibility measurements have been performed on a NdCu2Ge2 single-crystal compound. The susceptibility along the c-axis shows an antiferromagnetic behavior and an anomaly at T N =4.7 K . The magnetic easy direction is in the basal plane although moments are directed along the c-axis. The magnetization in the basal plane shows a knee around 6.6 T . The c-axis magnetization shows a metamagnetic transition at 2.3 T . The saturation magnetic moment estimated is 2.7 μ B . An analysis of the crystalline electric field has been made to discuss this magnetic behavior.
