Algumas consequências da abordagem evolutiva para o campo de estudos do comportamento informacional

This paper aims to examine the evolutionary approach of the information behavior and to reflect about some consequences brought by this approach to the discussions of librarianship and information science (LIC) in the works of Amanda Spink and Armando Malheiro da Silva. It incorporates a criticism of models of pursuit of knowledge such as Belkin’s ASK model, because of its technicist residue. Methodology: bibliographical research and subsequent analysis of the retrieved sources. Analysis is conducted by argumentative and conceptual survey of the texts considered relevant for each part of the argument. Results: Emphasizes the distinction between divergent interpretations of the term “evolution”, as regards information behavior. Recognizes the inevitable requirement of a holistic or interdisciplinary attitude for understanding the information human behavior. Highlights the human behaviors of informal and playful character in relation to information, as fundamental to the field of study.
