Abstract
- A solid iron squirrel-cage rotor is adopted in the dual stator-winding induction generator (DSIG), in order to satisfy high speed generation and obtain high power factor. There are two sets of winding in the stator, which are connected with rectifier load and static excitation regulator (SER) which are typical nonlinear components. To satisfy the design of the complex and nonlinear system, a mathematical model based on the 2D time-stepping finite element analysis is built in this paper. The skewed slot is taken into account by fundamental equal principle to reduce the calculation scale. The comparisons between experimental results and calculated results show that the calculated data of the power winding can provide the theoretical bases for the design. The error about the calculated data of excitation winding current is analyzed. And the ultimate error is reduced to satisfy design requirement by a modification method.
