Abstract
- A compact nebula, most probably due to reflected starlight, has been discovered around the high galactic latitude K giant star HD 20722. The existence of such a nebula implies that the star has experienced substantial mass loss, which might have been produced by a stellar wind from a giant leaving the tip of the asymptotic giant branch, or by binary-star evolution.
