Mode-Transition Bragg Gratings with Increased Group Index for On-Chip Optical Delay Lines

Abstract

We proposed and demonstrated mode-transition Bragg gratings for optical delay line applications. It shows a stronger slow light effect than conventional apodized Bragg gratings, and a maximum group index of 15.8 has been achieved.
