Abstract
- It was studied the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the promoter region of –11391 G > A adiponectin gene (ADIPOQ) in patients with type 2 diabetes (n = 223) and healthy inhabitants of Kharkiv (n = 51). It was established the absence of significant differences in allele frequency for SNP –11391 G > A in patients with type 2 diabetes (pG = 0.856 pA = 0.144 ), diabetes mellitus patients complicated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (pG = 0.850 pA = 0.150 ) and healthy individuals (pG = 0.911 pA = 0.088 ). According to the results of the study the contribution of genetic components in the propensity formation for the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in patients with diabetes in SNP –11391 G > A gene ADIPOQ was not identified. The data obtained have proved promising of further research, which should be based on a study of the role of other candidate genes in the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and their relationship with various metabolic parameters which may allow clarifying the role of genes in disease formation
