Abstract
- Summary During modeling theoretically a pulse train propagation in semiconductor light amplifiers (SLAs) transmission lines, the carrier recombination in SLAs is usually represented by N / τ C ( τ C is the constant carrier lifetime). In this paper, after taking into consideration the total recombination process of the carriers in a SLA, the output of a pulse train passing through a SLA has been simulated numerically, and an obvious difference can be observed compared with that obtained by adopting the constant carrier lifetime approximation.
