Abstract
- Ink penetration and distribution affect the final appearance of printing and usage of ink, which are closely concerned by printer and paper maker. The objective of this experiment was to investigate the relationship between drying and back trap mottle. The different drying temperature was carried out to change the coating structure and properties. Fluorescent ink was used to observe and characterize ink distribution by LSCM. The results indicated that drying temperature affected ink distribution evenness. Higher and lower drying temperature could not contribute to ink absorption uniformity. Appropriate drying temperature could contribute to form the best printability of coated paper. Backtrap mottle was tightly linked with ink penetration evenness and uniform ink absorption leaded to little back trap mottle.
