Abstract

Rhombohedral ellipsoidal domains, tetragonal circular ones, orthorhombic star ones, and dark domains consisted of fluxes of platelets were found to be induced on the (001)cub plane in 24PIN-46PMN-30PT crystals by shear stresses applied along [001]cub direction through Vickers micro-indentation. Bright star orthorhombic domains along [110]cub direction and the dark domains of nano-inclusions along [100]cub and [110]cub directions correspond to the creation and annihilation of thin platelet domains for the shuffling model, respectively. Two kinds of dielectric dispersions were found in depoled 24PIN-46PMN-30PT: one is the relaxor type and the other normal one at higher temperatures than the relaxor type.
