Abstract

Sheets 1 mm thick produced by rolling at 800°C were rolled at standard temperature in a laboratory mill with rolls 140 mm in diameter. Reduction was slight in each pass (2.5-3%), but amounted to 20, 40, 60, and 80% of the thickness. Round samples were cut from the sheets to determine the texture, and rectangular samples were cut at different angles (every 18 ° ) to the rolling direction (RD) to determine Young's modulus (E). The texture was determined by x-ray analysis by plotting direct polar figures (PF) from planes (0002) and {i0~0} [4] (Fig. i).
