ChemInform Abstract: Ultrasound Promoted Expeditious, Catalyst-Free and Solvent-Free Approach for the Synthesis of N,N′-Diarylsubstituted Formamidines at Room Temperature

It is proposed that the use of ultrasound irradiation is the major reason for the efficiency of the simple one-pot reaction of aromatic amines with triethyl orthoformate to afford formamidines and benzimidazole derivatives.
