Abstract
- Planar W-band antenna tiles were created by defining pixelated subwavelength metal patterns on 4 mm square and 500 μm thick glass tiles space fed by an open-ended waveguide. The metal patterns were optimized to form beams and convert polarization. The metal patterns were found by genetic algorithm optimization of finite difference time domain simulations. Several antennas were fabricated, measured, and found to agree with the predictions.
