Electric drives estimation and denoising schemes based on wavelet transforms

Abstract

This paper presents the application of the wavelet transform in electric drives schemes. Wavelets can significantly improve the behavior of a Kalman filter used for speed estimation. Furthermore an adaptive multiresolution wavelet analysis method is proposed for current denoising especially targeted for electric drives applications that have a V/f structure. This adaptive method compensates for the delay problem that every wavelet based denoising scheme imposes.
