Relativistic calculation of the spectra of the two-electron atomic ions—I

The relativistic energies of the 1 s 2 , 1 s 2 s , 1 s 2 p states of ions are calculated using the Gell-Mann and Low formula and a quantum-electrodynamic expression for the S -matrix. Contributions from the first two orders of Feynman diagrams are calculated.
