Abstract

We report on the observation of perturbed angular {gamma}-{gamma} correlations with 67.41 keV nuclear resonance of {sup 61}Ni using nuclear resonance scattering of synchrotron radiation. The dependence of the correlations on the direction and the magnitude of the hyperfine magnetic field is demonstrated in the feasibility study with nickel metal. The interpretation of the experimental data is done using modification of the theory of conventional perturbed angular correlations for the case of the linearly polarized first photon.
