Abstract

The utilization of graphene-based aerogels in electrochemical analysis is a promising potential of this unique material. So far, most related works use the aerogels as the modifiers of the conventional electrodes. We report here the fabrication of graphene-based aerogel decorated with gold nanoparticles through a simple cast-freeze-drying process and the direct use of the aerogel composite piece as electrode in the detection of H 2 O 2 . The as-prepared aerogel composites are characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. The aerogel electrode acting as the H 2 O 2 sensor shows satisfying electrocatalytic performances, including fast response, low detection limit and good stability.
