Abstract

Remote laser assisted processing(RLAP) is a relative new technique for machining of hard and brittle materials. Traditional programming software cannot support RLAP task. In this paper, an offline programming method for remote laser assisted drilling(RLAD) is presented. Firstly, the offline programming method is introduced. Then RLAD process is investigated to find the most effective process parameters for this programming method. An efficient motion planning and optimization system is developed. Process parameters and optimized motion planning path will be combine together and transferred into executable control operations. The resulting programming system offers fast and efficient programming for RLAD task, consequently having great potential in practical industry application.
