Abstract
- To research magnetic field distribution and no load characteristic of flux-switching permanent magnet machine (FSPM), the basic structure of FSPM and its operating principle were presented. Flux-linkage, back-electromotive force and torque of 12/10-pole FSPM were analyzed by three-dimensional finite element (3D-FEM) to build a full region physical model. The calculated results show that FSPM produces the sinusoidal back-electromotive force, high air-gap flux density and high torque, which verifies the rationality of FSPM design. In order to analyze the bigger cogging torque, which is produced by double salient pole structure and has bad influence on output torque, the experiment was carried on the prototype. Experiment results match with the simulation results, that conclusion verifies the correctness of 3D-FEM analysis and machine design.
