Abstract
- The crystallisation kinetics of MM 2.5 Fe 79 B 18.5 (MM=Mischmetal), was followed by means of Mossabuer effect experiments at constant acceleration, Mossbauer thermal scan, thermomagnetic and calorimetric measurements. It was determined that the as-quenched ribbons are amorphous with a T c of 668 K and the crystallisation, at low heating rates, occurs in two steps: in the first step, it precipitates a dilute α-(Fe, RE) solid solution, while in the second Fe 2 B and more α-(Fe, RE) are crystallised from the remnant Fe-impoverished amorphous matrix.
