Abstract
- In this paperwork three samples were done; the first sample was a mixture of the polymer with epoxy. The second sample was mixture the polymer with epoxy and Barite. The third sample was pure from the Date kernel powder. The results have been compared with the gamma rays Radiation properties. Linear attenuation coefficients were calculated 1 keV and Using a gamma spectrometer sodium iodide detector at gamma ray’s energy 662, 1173 and 1332 keV. The ability of these compounds to attenuate and shield gamma rays has been investigated. Showing the Date kernel is found as high efficiency better than Barite and polymer. The readings and results on radioactive materials were taken at the Radioactive Waste Treatment Centre of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Baghdad, Iraq.
