Abstract
- In this research, a 8 x 10 Gbit/s all-optical DWDM system (with five OADMs and six OXCs nodes) is developed to analyze and simulate the influence of fiber chromatic dispersion, its nonlinearity and optical switch insulator on the system of BER. The conclusion is that if the fiber nonlinearity is lower than 1.7 10 -20 m 2 /W and chromatic dispersion index is less than 1.1 ps/nm.km and the optical switch insulator is less than 50 dB, the system designed can be run smoothly.
