Effect of shunt resistor on superconductor–insulator transition in superconducting single small Josephson junction

Abstract
- We demonstrate that an externally attached shunt resistor significantly changes the transport property of a single small Josephson junction, between an insulator to a superconductor. The critical shunt resistance was about the quantum resistance Rq=h/4e2. We determined the phase diagram experimentally.
