Do rotation curves of spiral galaxies in clusters decline?

Abstract: Rotation curves for 21 spiral galaxies in five clusters have been obtained in a search for possible effects of the cluster environment on individual galaxy dynamics. We find no significant evidence for anything more than a small influence of the cluster environment. In particular, using 12 selected galaxies we do not confirm the strong correlation between slope of rotation curve and location within a cluster reported by Whitmore, Fobes, & Rubin
