Abstract

We performed an experiment to investigate the anomalous mean-free-path phenomenon for projectile fragments of /sup 56/Fe. 1846 charge-changing collisions of fragments with charges Z = 20--25 were analyzed with plastic nuclear track detectors. We observed no evidence for anomalous fragments.
