The Damping of Satellite Oscillations by Changing the Mass Distribution

It is shown to be possible to damp small oscillations of a gravity gradient stabilized satellite in circular orbit by three changes of the mass distribution. The time program of the changes is calculated for the linearized equations of motion. Using the program for the nonlinear motion some parameters must be varied.
