Abstract
- Pulse-phase radio navigation systems operating in the low frequency range used to perform the task of backing up global navigation satellite systems because of their vulnerability to random or targeted interference. First part of this paper indicates the need to build equipment to simulate these systems. The paper introduced an algorithm for generating complex-shaped radio pulses with adjustable parameters using low-resolution DACs. This algorithm allows the simultaneous generation of up to three radio navigation systems with a wide dynamic range of radio pulses amplitudes. Each of the emulated systems can operate according to a separate national standard. The dynamic range of simulated pulses amplitudes is provided exclusively by the digital method. Proposed algorithm allows to achieve high signal power to quantization noise power ratio even with maximum digital attenuation. The shape of the generated radio pulses fully complies with the requirements of the standards. Simulation equipment will significantly accelerate the development and testing of innovative low-frequency receivers.
