One-pion production in antiproton-proton interactions at 8.8 GeV/c

Abstract: We present a study of the reactions pp→ppπ0, pp→pnπ+, and pp→ npπ− at 8.8 GeV/c. Cross sections for the reactions are given, and the main features of the data are shown. The data are compared with the predictions of the Deck model, and evidence is presented for the presence of baryon exchange in the Deck amplitude.
