Abstract
- Measurements of the polarization of protons produced in the inclusive proton-nucleus reaction p+ A →p′+X at laboratory angles 95° ( A = 12) and 158° ( A = 9, 12, 96) are reported on. The polarization is found equal to (10–14)% at 95° and (2–4)% at 158° and changes weakly in the 17–64 GeV range. The data at 158° show that the polarization has a tendency to decrease with increasing A .
