Compact design of printed antenna with a ground slot for USB applications

Abstract
- This paper presents a printed antenna with an open slot in ground plane for wireless applications. The modes of the antenna ground and the open slot are excites to form the bandwidth at LTE 2300 and LTE2500 MHz while the two rectangular metal plates are excited to cover the bands for 5.2 and 5.8 GHz. The antenna with the overall dimensions of 55×13×1.6 mm3 consists of an antenna portion of 10×13 mm3 and a ground plane 45×13 mm2. The design can be easily applied in portable wireless devices.
