Abstract

In mathematics teaching, it is very important to present students with abstract mathematical concepts in a simple visual way, thus promoting students’ understanding and mastering knowledge. Visual teaching has always been an important component of education. Visual models combined with mathematical language help to express mathematical ideas. For mathematics teaching, the visual model is not only descriptive, educational and instructive, but also practical. One of the significant technologies to help to visualize in education is 3D printing. In this paper, we illustrate how 3D printing can help students and teachers in abstract conceptual understanding and mathematical proof in mathematics teaching. While discussing the close relationship between 3D printing technology and mathematics teaching, we propose a comprehensive mathematics education plan with 3D printing.
