Abstract
- This paper describes a new hybrid adaptive ENO scheme for partial differential equation in conservative form. The scheme is hybrid because it combines finite difference approximations for points away from the shock and ENO approximations near the shock. The method is adaptive in two ways. The first is that this method changes the computational grid in order to maintain a uniform approximation. Second, the method determines where to use the conservative ENO approximation to the derivative. The combination of these produces a quick algorithm for the solution of conservation laws.
